Thinking about finally upgrading to an adjustable bed? Adjustable beds are not only comfortable, but they also promote good health, there's no doubt about that for us!
However, if you're wondering if you can use an adjustable bed on your current bed frame, you're not alone. This is one of the most common questions we receive here at Eshine. Watch the video below, or keep reading to learn everything you need to know.
Will an Adjustable Base Fit Inside My Bed Frame?
To determine if an adjustable bed is right for you, you need to look closely at the construction of the bed frame. The two most common types of bed frames are “slab” bed frames and “platform” bed frames. Both types of bed frames can use an adjustable base as long as a few important conditions are met.
Can a slatted bed use an adjustable base?
Slatted beds provide a four-wall “frame” for the bed and space for a bedspring or bed base to support the mattress. While bed styles vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, if you see a bed it likely has a slatted bed frame:
Decorative features such as footboards, headboards, or bed side rails
Little or no slats or panels in the center
Adjustable bases work well with slatted bed frames. However, if you are considering using the Eshine Adjustable Base, you will need to make sure that you can remove any interior panels or slats and that it is the right size so that there is enough room to place the adjustable base directly in the center of the bed frame.
Can I use the Adjustable Base on a Platform Bed?
When using a platform bed base, you will see closely spaced slats or a solid surface that can directly support the mattress. Some platform beds also include storage solutions or drawers that maximize space.
The same rule applies here. If you want to use an adjustable base on a platform bed frame, you'll need to remove any solid surfaces, panels, slats or drawers in the center of the bed frame.
If your platform bed frame can't be removed, you can purchase Eshine's king size bed frame, our king size bed frame is designed to be placed directly on a platform bed.
